Even the most remote nature reserves can be strongly impacted by human activity.
The video below is a slide show of pictures of albatross chicks that died from intoxication and choking after being fed by their parents with plastic trash floating on the ocean.
This is another tragic case of hidden (external) costs in the production and disposal of consumption goods. All the pieces of plastic we see on these pictures did not cost much to produce and purchase. However, the ones who pay the highest price are these beautiful birds who perish by the thousands every year.
